WEEK 1: LANGUAGE (WIIDAD SERGHINI MESSOUD)

  • Find out on the Internet a map of the languages spoken in the world, upload it,  and tell us which language you would like to learn, apart from the ones that you already speak. try to use the passive voice in your justification.


- To begin with, I speak five languages, Spanish, English, Arabic, French and, to a lesser extent, German. Since I was just a kid I have always wanted to speak many languages because I love learning them and see how can I understand them later. I am actually learning Norwegian, Portuguese, Italian and Catalan. It might sound crazy but my dream has always been to be a multilingual person.

  • Say which other activities have you done this week to improve your English.
- This week I have been reading a book "Idiot Verse" by Keaton Henson and also I have been watching some tv series on the internet.

How I improve my writing skills

Being able to write properly is essential as it helps to organise and develop your ideas in the best way possible. Furthermore, writing can also help with your communication skills because it improves the abitily to express your thoughts.  Since I was at highschool my writing skills have improved but I definitely still have a lot to learn. When I had to make an essay, I used to write the first ideas that came to my mind. Then, I read it and I changed anything if I thought it was necessary. However, I found out that there must be a process before starting to write. In these years, I have discovered several steps that must be done before starting to write an essay. What I usually do before writing is making an outline. I used to think it was not necessary but it has helped me to organise my thoughts as I always have a lot of ideas but I do not know how to put them in order. - Browse the Net and provide links to writing labs online where essay writing can be studied. https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/ http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/grammar/ https://owl.excelsior.edu/ Explain the major difficulties you find when writing essays. The major difficulties that I find while writing essays is to not expound on something further because normally you have a limited number of words. In addition, you have to find the exact words to express yourself correctly for saying just what you want to say, nothing more and nothing less. Tell us what you have done this week to improve your English. This week I continue reading the book I mentioned last time Idiot Verse , also I started reading a new novel Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Moreover, I am watching 'How To Get Away With A Murder' on Netflix.
